The short version
Vocab does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking pixels. The app connects to our server once daily to fetch Today's Word — no personal information is sent in this request. Everything else you do in the app stays entirely on your device.
What we collect
We do not collect personal data. The app fetches Today's Word from our server (lexiapp.today) — this request contains your difficulty preference but no identifying information. Your vocabulary progress, saved words, quiz results, and preferences are stored locally on your device using an on-device database. We have no way to access your learning data.
Data storage
All app data is stored locally on your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. If you delete the app, all data is removed with it. Vocab uses Apple's App Group container to share data between the main app and its widgets — this data never leaves your device.
Third-party services
Vocab does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app uses Apple's built-in text-to-speech (AVSpeechSynthesizer) for word pronunciation, which processes audio entirely on your device.
Purchases
Vocab is a one-time purchase of $4.99 through the Apple App Store. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store any payment information.
Children's privacy
Because Vocab does not collect any data from any user, it is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or any other age group.
Changes to this policy
If we ever update this privacy policy, we will post the changes on this page with a revised date. Given that we collect no data, we do not anticipate significant changes.
